Taste of pomegranate

The pomegranate is a special fruit with dozens of red seeds and a leathery skin. Squeezing out the juice is done with a special press to get as much juice out of the seeds as possible. Because they are super small a lot of pomegranates are required!

The flesh has a soft, sweet and sour taste and it is known for its thirst-quenching properties. Pure, pressed or as syrup; pomegranate can be added in different ways.

Despite being one of the oldest and most famous fruits from the Mediterranean region, the fruit has only been popular in the Netherlands since the past few years. In the Arabic cuisine, the taste of pomegranate is often used in the form of syrup to enrich both sweet and savoury dishes.

Quite popular is drinking the straight juice because it is loaded with antioxidants. Or just mix it in with other fruits for a delicious fruit salad.
