Like our liquorice flavour?

‘Trekdrop’, a well-known and typical Dutch delicacy that people spoke about in a mouth-watering fashion. Spoke about, in the past tense. Liquorice enthusiasts have a hard time finding it, because ‘trekdrop’ has disappeared from our supermarket shelves and will not return.

Next to its flexible texture and looks, what made this trekdrop a can’t stop eating  type of candy? Of course, its attractive taste! It also turned out that it was an unique and versatile taste contributor in various culinary dishes and because of its good melting properties also could be used in ice cream and various baked goods.

Liquorice is made with the extract of the liquorice root. This root is largely responsible for the characteristic sweet liquorice taste, in addition to the sugar and glucose syrup used in the final formula. The salmiak salt is present at a much lower level in a sweet liquorice like the Dutch trekdrop.

Our trekdrop flavouring can be described as sweet with a warm spicy aniseed taste, characteristic for the trekdrop liquorice taste and lingering effect.

As tastemakers pur sang, we are only too happy to add to the revival of this catchy liquorice taste. With our trekdrop flavouring we can offer you a tool to rediscover the specific taste that made trekdrop so special. And not just in a liquorice application.

Also in applications you don’t expect, like soft marshmallows. Blackened with activated carbon for a spooky Halloween theme.

This recognizable nostalgic trekdrop taste is fully back this autumn!

Try it yourself, don’t hesitate to request a sample.
