But hawaij is not only perfect for stews; it also adds a delicious taste to various savoury applications such as soups, meat substitutes, snacks and sauces.
At Buteressence we have various spice flavouring blends that give your product a unique and distinct taste sensation. This winter we are introducing our special Flavour Idea: potato crisps with the perfect combination of a meat stew and hawaij flavouring powder, applied in a seasoning.
Hawaij, which means 'mixture' in Arabic, comes from the Middle East and offers a variety of flavours.
There are two varieties of hawaij: the savoury mix, including turmeric, black pepper, cumin, cardamom and coriander. And then there is the sweet liquid variant, perfect for coffee and desserts and composed of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and cloves.
